Job Summary

As a Prosthetics, Hair and Makeup Artist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of characters and performers across our entertainment parks. You will design, maintain, and innovate wigs, makeup, and prosthetics to meet the highest standards of quality and creativity, collaborating closely with seamstresses, costume technicians, and attendants. Your expertise ensures performers look flawless daily while also supporting special projects and public relations events. Beyond crafting and styling, you will mentor performers on proper application techniques, manage inventory, and oversee daily operations—from laundry and repairs to documentation and team coordination. This dynamic role demands precision, artistic talent, and a passion for creating immersive, character-driven experiences that captivate audiences.

Responsibilities

Character Look Documentation

• Document and maintain detailed records of hair, prosthetic, and makeup designs for all characters, ensuring consistency across parks and public events.
  
  

Wig and Prosthetic Maintenance

• Wash, style, and restore wigs to intellectual property (IP) standards while fabricating and repairing custom prosthetics for performers.
  
  

Performer Training and Quality Assurance

• Train performers in proper makeup and prosthetic application techniques and conduct daily checks to uphold company standards.
  
  

Inventory and Logistics Management

• Collaborate with the Costuming Support Manager to maintain accurate wig, makeup, and supply inventories, placing timely orders and organizing dry cleaning logistics.
  
  

Costume Craftsmanship and Support

• Assist with fabricating, repairing, and altering costumes with meticulous attention to detail, and support daily laundry operations as needed.
  
  

Public Relations and Event Participation

• Represent the park at on-site and off-site PR events, showcasing costumes and performer readiness for media and special occasions.
  
  

Operational Leadership

• Manage daily costuming operations, including staff coordination, assignment distribution, and communication via radio with green rooms.
  
  

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

• Serve as a team leader in entertainment departments when required, interfacing professionally with colleagues and external vendors.
  
  

Administrative and Documentation

• Develop visual references and documentation for makeup and hair styles, attend department meetings, and assist with administrative tasks for the Senior Costuming Manager.
  
  

Knowledge Sharing and Team Culture

• Share expertise and best practices with costume colleagues while fostering a fun, safe, and collaborative work environment.
  
  

Qualifications

Essential

• Higher secondary education or equivalent, with certification in Hair and Makeup.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in makeup application, wig styling, and prosthetics work.
• Proficiency in prosthetics application and development, wig design/restyling, makeup design, and hand sewing.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and prior experience working with performers.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with proficiency in English.
  
  

Desirable

• Associate degree or higher in theatre or fine arts, with certification in Special FX makeup.
• 5 years of sewing or fine arts background, or 3 years of theme park/theatre/cruise ship experience.
• Advanced skills in Special FX makeup, body painting, sculpting, mold making, and airbrush techniques.
• Experience in wig making/repair, specialization in Costume Technology, and theme park operations.
• Advanced computer proficiency and experience in managing teams or people.
