Proposal Manager

Overview

To secure new data center projects by leading preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals.

Your role

• Lead proposal teams across engineering, procurement, finance and operations.
• Manage full bid lifecycle from qualification to award.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of data center systems and interfaces, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across AtkinsRéalis to collect and consolidate design information, technical inputs, and project requirements, ensuring all scope elements are captured and accurately incorporated into the proposal, risk assessment, and pricing model.
• Coordinate conceptual designs, technical narratives, compliance matrices, and value-engineering proposals.
• Review RFPs, specifications and contracts.
• Manage pricing, contingencies assessments and compliance requirements.
• Support client clarifications and negotiations.
• Coordinate with OEMs and technology partners to obtain technical support, budgets, pricing, and solution validation.
• Maintain proposal quality standards and ensure adherence to company QMS procedures.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, sustainability initiatives, AI-ready facilities, modular data centres, and liquid cooling technologies.
  
  

About You

• Strong data center proposal and business development experience.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary proposal teams.
• Technical and commercial understanding of critical infrastructure.
• Ability to manage multiple high-value bids and strategic opportunities simultaneously.
• Proposal Management – Managing complex proposals from qualification to award.
• Data Centre Technical Knowledge – Understanding of critical power, cooling, ICT, security, fire protection, BMS, and DCIM systems.
• Commercial Acumen – Ability to develop pricing strategies, cost models, and financial evaluations.
• Contractual Knowledge – Understanding tender conditions, contracts, compliance requirements, and risk allocation.
• Value Engineering – Optimizing solutions while maintaining resilience, performance, and compliance.
• Leadership & Team Development – Managing, mentoring, and developing proposal personnel. Stakeholder Management – Strong communication with clients, consultants, OEMs, and internal teams.
• Negotiation Skills – Supporting commercial discussions and contract negotiations.
• Analytical Skills – Evaluating technical, commercial, and operational risks.
• Presentation Skills – Delivering compelling client presentations and executive reviews.
• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years relevant experience.
• 5+ years data center experience.
