The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Planning Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be providing expert planning guidance to project teams within the PGGI 2226 unit, supporting the successful execution of EP and EPC projects. Act as a key advisor in aligning project timelines, deliverables, and re-source planning with business and client expectations. You will be combining strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail to ensure robust planning frameworks are in place from contract award through to project handover. Anticipate challenges and proactively support the team in navigating complex project dynamics. You will Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and collaborative problem-solving across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Project management functions. Serve as a central point of coordination to drive alignment and accountability.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Leading the planning activities for EP and EPC projects, ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, construction, and other key functions. Monitor progress, provide regular updates, and escalate risks proactively to maintain project timelines and contractual commitments.
  • Developing and managing detailed project schedules in collaboration with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams. Account for resource constraints, bottlenecks, and critical path activities to optimize execution and ensure milestone adherence.
  • Tracking and analyzing site execution progress against the baseline schedule. Identify delays, maintain delay logs, and work closely with site teams to implement recovery plans. Provide look-ahead schedules and executive summaries to guide project teams and senior management.
  • Leading and supporting the preparation of Extension of Time claims by selecting appropriate delay analysis methodologies (e.g. Impacted as planned, Time Impact Analysis, As-Planned vs. As-Built etc). Coordinate with project teams to gather substantiating evidence and ensure timely submission of claims.
  • Monitoring project progress using S-curves with assigned weightages across disciplines and deliverables. Develop and interpret cost curves to assess earned value, forecast trends, and support financial and schedule performance evaluations.
  • Closely monitoring contractual milestones, stage gates, and on-time delivery commitments. Ensure timely completion of key deliverables in alignment with client expectations and project agreements.
  • Overseeing all planning-related activities within SAP and other digital platforms (Power BI). Ensure accurate data entry, reporting, and system integration to support project controls and decision-making.
  • Preparing and maintaining key planning reports including project KPIs. Support monthly and weekly reviews with actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.
  • Working closely with Tendering & sales, Project Management, Engineerinng, Manufacturing and site team to align planning strategies with business goals and client expectations.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of work experience in EP and EPC projects, particularly in greenfield and brownfield developments across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Expert level knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Project
  • PMI-SP or PMP certified
  • A strong background in project controls, scheduling, and resource planning, with a proven track record of working on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, and Power BI is essential.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and multicultural environments is highly valued.
  • Proactive, Self-Motivated, Flexible.
  • Quick to learn and execute.
  • Experience in Microsoft office and tools.
  • Knowledge of DMS, ACC etc
  • Ability to collaborate and work together with different stakeholders
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.
