Job Description

The role of a Project Planner in the construction industry is crucial in ensuring the smooth execution and timely completion of projects. As a key member of the project management team, the Project Planner is responsible for developing detailed project plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring that all project phases comply with client demands, standards, and regulations. The position demands a deep understanding of construction processes, excellent communication skills, and a high level of organizational expertise to coordinate between various stakeholders. The Project Planner must be adept at using specialized planning software and have the ability to foresee potential issues and develop mitigation strategies in advance. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget.


Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans detailing timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Monitor and track project progress against established schedules and adjust as needed.
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Identify project risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
  • Communicate project updates and changes to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal construction regulations.
  • Utilize project management software to manage project schedules and resources.
  • Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with the project team to discuss project status.
  • Analyze project financials to ensure the project remains within budget limits.
  • Review project plans and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Planner in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail are essential.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and effectively communicate insights and solutions.
  • Understanding of construction processes and familiarity with construction guidelines.
