Job Description

The Project Manager - Ship Repairing 11D25 is a pivotal role designed to oversee and manage ship repair and maintenance projects effectively. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in maritime engineering and project management. They will be responsible for coordinating various stakeholders, including shipyard teams, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure repair projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards. The Project Manager will also be tasked with developing project plans, managing schedules, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times. Strong leadership and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently to keep the project on track. Excellent communication skills are also necessary to facilitate clear and consistent updates with all parties involved.


Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans to guide ship repair operations from start to finish.
  • Coordinate activities across various departments to ensure successful project completion.
  • Manage the project budget, monitoring and controlling expenses effectively to prevent overspending.
  • Liaise with clients to understand project specifications and ensure their requirements are met.
  • Oversee the work of the shipyard team to assure quality standards are maintained.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings with all involved parties to track progress.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to minimize impact on project timelines and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime safety and environmental regulations at all times.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to ensure cost-effective procurement of resources.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports for stakeholders and senior management.
  • Implement changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs when necessary, following proper change management processes.
  • Resolve any conflicts or obstacles that impede project progress quickly and effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in ship repairing or maritime project management.
  • Strong understanding of ship repair processes and marine engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to project challenges.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools for effective planning and execution.
