Project Manager (Power Projects)

Job Title: Project Manager – Power Projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the client in all project-related activities, ensuring design, procurement, and construction meet quality, safety, and contractual standards.
  • Oversee the review of engineering designs, technical submittals, and contractor deliverables.
  • Manage the project from the consultancy side, coordinating with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure timely progress and compliance.
  • Monitor and report on schedule, budget, risks, and overall project performance.
  • Provide expert advice on technical matters, design coordination, and construction methodologies.
  • Review and validate contractor claims, change orders, progress payments, and contractual correspondence.
  • Facilitate coordination between different technical disciplines (civil, electrical, mechanical) involved in overhead lines, substations, and power generation systems.
  • Participate in project audits, risk assessments, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, compliant, and properly archived.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing power infrastructure projects in a consultancy role.
  • Strong understanding of international standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.) and transmission/distribution engineering practices.
  • Experience working with EPC contract or similar contract forms.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects in the power sector.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
  • Familiar with project management tools and reporting platforms (Primavera, MS Project).
