Project Manager Gaming

This is a remote role, and we're looking for someone based within the CET time zone (or close enough to work effectively with the team).

Hypemasters is an international game development studio creating strategy games for mobile and PC. We're looking for a Project Manager to help drive execution across the company, keeping projects moving, teams aligned, and delivery to a high standard.

This isn't a purely administrative PM role. You should understand game production well enough to spot where things are likely to get stuck and step in before they become a problem. You should also be interested in the product itself: playing the game, understanding how it works, asking the right questions, and having an opinion on what could be improved.

You'll work closely with leadership and development teams to set clear priorities, remove blockers, challenge timelines where needed, and find better and faster ways of working without compromising on quality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage multiple projects across different teams, keeping work on track and delivery timelines clear
• Manage resources across projects and help ensure teams are working efficiently
• Understand the game production pipeline end-to-end and anticipate where dependencies, handoffs, or cross-team work could create bottlenecks
• Identify risks, blockers, and dependencies early and work directly with teams to resolve them
• Get involved with the product itself: play the game, understand its systems and mechanics, and use that knowledge to ask informed questions and suggest improvements
• Challenge timelines, estimates, and assumptions where needed to help teams work faster and more efficiently
• Make sure teams are delivering work to the expected quality and standard
• Keep communication clear and proactive across teams and with stakeholders
• Keep Jira up to date and make sure priorities, progress, and blockers are visible to everyone who needs to know
• Contribute to product and feature prioritisation, balancing player impact, business value, and development effort
  
  
  

• Project management experience working on a mobile game generating $1M+ in annual revenue.
• Strong understanding of game production pipelines and the areas where cross-team blockers typically arise
• Genuine interest in games, with the ability to play and evaluate our games and form your own opinions on how they could be improved
• Experience working with remote teams
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Comfortable challenging assumptions, questioning estimates, and pushing teams towards better solutions
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Experience with Agile workflows and project management tools such as Jira
• A product-oriented mindset, with an understanding of key mobile-game metrics such as retention, engagement, conversion, and monetisation
  
  
  

• Experience working on a strategy game
• A background in game design, QA, production, or another area that gives you hands-on understanding of how game development pipelines work
• Experience with free-to-play economies, live operations, product analytics, or A/B testing
