Synopsis
The Product Owner for airline Revenue Management products reports the Senior Product Manager and is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and maintaining the backlog, ensuring user stories are aligned with revenue optimization objectives such as pricing, inventory, and demand management.
Working closely with the Product Manager as the customer proxy, the Product Owner supports the product vision and roadmap, validates delivered features against acceptance criteria, and ensures high-quality outcomes.
As a core member of one or more agile scrum teams, the Product Owner collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to translate commercial and business objectives into clear, actionable requirements for each iteration.
Accountabilities
- Contribute to the definition of product strategy, vision, and roadmap in alignment with business goals.
- Own and manage the team backlog; prioritize features and user stories based on value, risk, and effort.
- Translate product features into clear and detailed user stories with defined acceptance criteria and test cases.
- Ensure cross-team dependencies are managed effectively and reflected in iteration planning.
- Accept user stories and features once they meet the Definition of Done (DoD), acceptance criteria, and quality standards.
- Champion customer and business needs in all discussions with development teams.
- Facilitate sprint reviews and demos with stakeholders, capturing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Lead retrospectives and contribute to increasing team efficiency and delivery velocity.
- Maintain system training materials and conduct training sessions during new feature rollouts and refresh cycles.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure technical enablers are sequenced and integrated into delivery plans.
- Monitor product performance post-release and support enhancements based on user feedback and insights.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline (required).
- 7 years + of experience in digital product development, agile delivery, or technology environments.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner, or equivalent (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with agile frameworks including Scrum, SAFe, or Lean Portfolio Management.
- Demonstrated success in translating customer and business needs into valuable digital solutions.
- Proficient in backlog grooming, user story writing, and managing feature prioritisation.
- Strong understanding of CX/UX principles and ability to incorporate customer feedback into product improvements.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or other agile product management platforms.
- Airline, travel, e-commerce, or digital services experience is a plus.
