Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing and supply chain operations with the objective of acquiring high-quality products and services. You will work closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts, evaluate performance, and ensure cost-effective procurement strategies are in place. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, a knack for negotiation, and the ability to develop strong relationships with vendors. The role demands a thorough understanding of supply chain and procurement activities, with a proactive approach to handle procurement issues efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify and qualify potential suppliers to meet company requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions for contracts with suppliers.
  • Coordinate the purchasing process to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Analyze market and delivery trends to develop procurement technologies and processes.
  • Manage procurement databases and maintain accurate records of purchases and prices.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand and meet procurement needs.
  • Prepare procurement reports to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Conduct cost analysis and recommend cost-saving and value-added practices.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in procurement practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence decision-making processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for effective procurement activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with vendors.
