Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our team and oversee our company's procurement operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the most cost-effective purchase of all necessary goods and services while maintaining the highest quality standards. As a Procurement Officer, you will liaise with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to maintain a robust and efficient supply chain. Your ability to analyze market trends, forecast procurement needs, and ensure compliance with company policies will be pivotal. This role requires exceptional negotiation skills, a commitment to ethical procurement practices, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments to meet supply demands effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic purchasing plans aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers and vendors.
  • Conduct market research to identify viable suppliers and product options.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast future procurement needs accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical purchasing standards.
  • Review supplier contracts and resolve discrepancies and contractual issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ascertain procurement needs and specifications.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, and relevant procurement data.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality and service standards.
  • Manage supplier relations, including performance evaluation and feedback sessions.
  • Supervise and mentor purchasing assistants and junior procurement staff as needed.
  • Prepare and present detailed procurement reports to senior management regularly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong negotiating skills with the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for effective procurement strategies.
  • Familiarity with purchasing software and tools for streamlined operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for efficient coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
