Job Description

As a Procurement Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization's seamless acquisition of technologically advanced materials and equipment. This position requires a combination of engineering expertise and procurement experience to drive cost-effective purchasing strategies, evaluate supplier performance, and ensure procurement processes align with industry standards. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to deliver high-quality products that meet our technical requirements. Your ability to analyze specifications, negotiate effectively, and manage supplier relationships will be crucial to achieving our operational goals and maintaining a competitive advantage in the industry.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze project requirements and determine procurement needs to meet specifications.
  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies and tactics for projects.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms.
  • Collaborate with engineers to review and interpret technical specifications accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues impacting project timelines.
  • Maintain an updated supplier database with accurate performance records and assessments.
  • Manage procurement budgets and track spending to optimize resource utilization.
  • Prepare and present regular procurement reports to senior management for review.
  • Assist in developing long-term relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans accordingly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management in an engineering setting.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract agreements.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications in procurement processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating supplier performance.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and financial management systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in the procurement process.
