- Ensure design continuity throughout the project and across project phases; maintain consistent engineering intent from design basis through IFC deliverables.
- Technical Authority – Piping Engineering & Layout (Onshore/Offshore)
- Lead development and approval of piping design basis, design criteria, philosophies, specifications and project design instructions (including modeling/drafting procedures).
- Lead the plot plan development and maintenance; ensure integrated topsides/plant layout considering safety, access, operability, maintainability and constructability.
- Coordinate piping and layout activities with other disciplines; lead model reviews, resolve clashes, and drive issue closure to meet project milestones.
- Ensure recognized offshore engineering practices applicable to topsides/plant layout and piping design are adopted and consistently applied.
- Oversee and/or approve piping deliverables such as GA drawings (aboveground/underground), isometrics, tie-in lists, line/service index, special piping items lists, and MTOs.
- Piping Stress Analysis & Pipe Supports
- Define and implement stress analysis strategy and criteria; identify critical lines, unusual operating conditions, and required analysis methods (static/dynamic as applicable).
- Oversee and review piping flexibility/stress calculations and reports; ensure compliance with relevant codes, project criteria and client standards.
- Lead interface management for piping support philosophy, support selection, and timely transfer of piping loads to Civil/Structural.
- Ensure vibration, thermal movement, equipment nozzle loads and support/anchor requirements are addressed early and verified through design and reviews.
- Piping Materials Engineering & Procurement Support
- Provide technical leadership on piping material selection, line classes/specifications, datasheets and special piping items to meet service, integrity and lifecycle requirements.
- Support procurement by preparing/reviewing material requisitions/engineering requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document reviews for piping-related items.
- Engage with vendors and suppliers to resolve technical queries; ensure purchase-to-specification compliance and timely closure of vendor documentation and actions.
- Quality, Governance and Change Management
- Implement and enforce discipline quality checking procedures; ensure deliverables are produced, checked and issued per project and corporate procedures.
