Principal Engineer – Guidance and Control

Job Summary

The Principal Engineer for Guidance and Control will act as a technical leader within the department, responsible for guiding the development and implementation of guidance and control systems. The role directly supports the Department Manager and provides technical direction, mentorship, and capability development for the engineering team. This position will also drive the investigation and introduction of advanced technologies to expand and strengthen HALCON’s guidance and control capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership and Capability Management

  • Lead and manage departmental capabilities in:
    • Simulation
    • Guidance and Control
    • Tracking Systems
    • Software Development (SIL and PIL)
    • Lab Testing and Performance Verification
    • Mission Planning
Mentorship and Team Development

  • Guide and mentor engineering staff, including:
    • Junior Engineers
    • Engineer I
    • Engineer II
    • Senior Engineers
Flight Test Responsibilities

  • Support pre‑flight preparation
  • Participate in flight testing
  • Conduct post‑flight analysis and performance verification

Future Technology Investigation

  • Research and evaluate cutting‑edge technologies relevant to guidance and control
  • Support implementation of future methodologies, architectures, and algorithms

Capability Establishment and Tools

  • Develop and expand guidance and control engineering capabilities
  • Establish required infrastructure, laboratories, and supporting tools

Experience And Qualifications

Required:

  • 10–15 years of experience working on guided weapon systems or similar advanced aerospace/defence technologies
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering management or technical leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Guided weapon system development
    • Guidance and control engineering
    • Systems engineering
    • Capability establishment in high‑technology environments
Preferred:

  • Experience within leading aerospace or defence organizations
  • Expertise in simulation, algorithm development, and mission systems
