Job Description

The National Water and Energy Center at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites outstanding and highly motivated scholars to join our interdisciplinary research group. This is a full-time, on-site role in Hydrogeology, Managed Aquifer Recharge and Groundwater Resources. The Postdoctoral Fellow will undertake advanced research and applied hydrogeological investigations focused on managed aquifer recharge (MAR), groundwater resource assessment, groundwater quality mapping, hydrogeological exploration, climate change adaptation, and sustainable water resource management. The successful candidate will contribute to multidisciplinary groundwater research programs through the design, implementation, analysis, and interpretation of hydrogeological, hydrochemical, geochemical, and isotope investigations. The position requires demonstrated experience in field investigations, hydrogeologic site characterization, deep borehole programs, aquifer testing, groundwater quality assessment, and the formulation of scientifically robust data inputs for groundwater management, planning, and decision-making.

Minimum Qualification

• PhD degree in Hydrogeology/Earth Sciences or Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Candidates must have received their PhD within the past 5 years from an accredited college or university.
• Proficiency in scientific and technical assessments, design, implementation, and evaluation of Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) projects
• Experience in designing and interpreting hydrogeochemical and environmental isotope investigations
• Ability to integrate geological, geophysical, hydrological, hydrochemical, and remote-sensing information for groundwater exploration and assessment
• Proficiency in analysis of big geologic and hydrogeologic data
• Strong technical report writing and coordination skills
• Proofed ability to author peer-reviewed journal publications

• Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students
• Strong publication track record in high-ranking journals
