Job Description

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position under the project "Oryx: Data-driven Assessment of Built Environment Design for Human and Robot Safety." The candidate will support research in robotics, AI, computer vision, sensor integration, and built-environment safety assessment. The role includes algorithm development, experimentation, data analysis, technical reporting, and support for publications and project activities.

Minimum Qualification

PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Background in AI, or computer vision
• Good programming and technical writing skills
• Ability to conduct experiments and analyze data
• Ability to work independently and within a research team
  
  

Preferred Qualification

• Experience with Python, MATLAB, or C++
• Experience in deep learning, perception, or sensor-based systems
• Research publication record in relevant areas
• Interest in safety, automation, and smart environments
• Good communication and teamwork skills
