Job Description

The Department of Chemistry at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow position. The successful candidate will be appointed for a one-year term (renewable subject to performance and funding availability). The selected candidate will participate in a research project focused on the synthesis and evaluation of a novel class of chiral covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for the selective extraction and complete removal of chiral pharmaceutical and pesticide pollutants from environmental samples. Selection will be based on academic qualifications, research experience, and demonstrated motivation aligned with the requirements stated in this advertisement. Interested applicants should submit:

• PhD in Chemical Sciences or a closely related field
• Strong background in covalent organic framework synthesis and characterization
• Experience in chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  
  

• Demonstrated experience in the synthesis and characterization of covalent organic frameworks.
• Experience in separation of chiral organic compounds using HPLC.
• Experience with HPLC-MS/MS analysis.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
  
  

• Conduct laboratory-based synthesis of chiral covalent organic frameworks.
• Extract chiral pharmaceuticals and pesticides from treated and untreated wastewater samples.
• Perform quantitative HPLC-MS/MS analyses for sensitive detection of chiral pollutants.
• Contribute to timely manuscript preparation and publication.
• Assist in supervising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
