Job Description
- Key Responsibilities: Oversee all port operations, including vessel scheduling, cargo handling, and port maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Develop and implement procedures to optimize port operations and improve efficiency. –
- Monitor vessel movements and coordinate with port authorities to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Manage a team of port staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of port facilities and equipment to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate the movement of cargo and ensure timely delivery to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all port activities, including vessel movements, cargo handling, and port expenses.
- Prepare reports and presentations on port operations for management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry developments and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a port or shipping company.
- Strong knowledge of port operations, vessel handling, and cargo handling procedures.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software. – Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
