We are currently recruiting for PMC Lead Contracts Engineer role to support our ADNOC offshore project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at our client office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role
The Lead Contracts Engineer is responsible for leading all contracting and procurement-related activities within a PMC organization for offshore oil & gas or renewable energy projects. The role ensures that all contractual strategies, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, award, and post-award contract management are executed in compliance with project requirements, company policies, and international best practices. The Lead Contracts Engineer acts as a focal point between the client, contractors, engineering teams, and legal/commercial departments, ensuring effective risk management and contract performance throughout the project lifecycle

Responsibilities
Contract Strategy & Planning
- Develop project-specific Contracting & Procurement (C&P) strategies for offshore projects (FEED, EPC, T&I, fabrication, installation, commissioning).
- Advise project management on contract models (lump-sum, reimbursable, hybrid) and risk allocation.
- Prepare and maintain contract plans, schedules, and procurement status reports.
Tendering & Bid Management
- Prepare Request for Proposals (RFP), Invitations to Tender (ITT), and pre-qualification documents.
- Lead tender clarification meetings, pre-bid meetings, and site visits.
- Coordinate technical and commercial evaluations with multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead negotiations on contractual, commercial, and claims-related topics.
Contract Formation & Award
- Finalize contract terms and conditions in collaboration with legal and project leadership.
- Prepare award recommendations and obtain necessary internal approvals.
- Support drafting of contract amendments, change orders, and variation requests.
Post-Award Contract Management
- Monitor contractor performance, deliverables, and compliance with contract requirements.
- Lead change management including variations, claims, back-charges, and disputes.
- Ensure robust contract administration practices: correspondence, logs, payment certs, and KPIs.
- Support cost control and schedule teams in ensuring alignment with contract obligations.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks across the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with company corporate governance, contractual frameworks, and insurance requirements.
- Manage contractual interfaces between multiple offshore packages (EPC, subsea, offshore vessels, drilling, etc.).
Team Leadership & PMC Coordination
- Supervise and mentor junior contract engineers within the PMC team.
- Act as the primary contractual focal point for the client and offshore contractors.
- Support alignment between engineering, procurement, construction, and legal teams.

Expected
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in contract engineering or contract management, preferably in offshore oil & gas
- Strong understanding of contracting strategies (EPC, EPIC, T&I, LSTK), FIDIC, LOGIC, or other international contract forms.
- Experience in PMC roles on major offshore projects is highly desirable.
- Proven skills in negotiation, claims management, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
