Job Description

The Pharmacy Manager is a pivotal role within the pharmacy setting, responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care. This position involves managing the pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and meeting performance and operational targets. The Pharmacy Manager collaborates with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapies and ensures that patient safety and satisfaction are paramount. This role also involves maintaining inventory, managing budgets, and implementing new pharmacy services. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to adapt to the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare and pharmacy practice.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise pharmacy staff to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure pharmacy compliance with all regulatory and health guidelines and laws.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor inventory and oversee the procurement of pharmaceutical supplies and medications.
  • Implement strategic plans to meet financial and operational goals and objectives.
  • Analyze and improve pharmacy workflows to enhance service delivery and patient care.
  • Manage budgets and prepare financial reports to maintain fiscal responsibility.
  • Oversee patient medication programs to optimize therapeutic outcomes and safety.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff performance and professional development.
  • Coordinate and lead team meetings to communicate goals and update staff on changes.
  • Implement new pharmacy services to meet evolving patient and business needs.
  • Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Valid pharmacist license in the applicable state or jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a retail or clinical pharmacy setting.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing a diverse team.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions effectively.
