A Pharmacy Manager is a vital position within the healthcare environment, responsible for overseeing the operations of a pharmacy. This role ensures that prescriptions are filled accurately, and that customers receive the correct medication and appropriate counseling on their use. The Pharmacy Manager is tasked with managing pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintaining inventory. The role requires strong leadership abilities, a keen attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of pharmaceuticals. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will also be responsible for optimizing the management of financial resources and business strategies to enhance overall pharmacy performance while delivering exceptional customer service.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the pharmacy ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage and supervise pharmacy staff to ensure high productivity and performance.
  • Ensure that all prescriptions are accurately dispensed to customers and patients.
  • Monitor inventory levels and oversee ordering of medicines and supplies as needed.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff on new products and regulations.
  • Maintain good relationships with customers through excellent service and communication.
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting and financial reporting of the pharmacy.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote and increase pharmacy sales.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapies.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and professional legal requirements.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and improve the quality and performance of pharmacy services continuously.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school.
  • Current and active pharmacist license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in a pharmacy setting.
  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a pharmacy.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, systems, and financial management.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the capacity to motivate and guide staff effectively.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in pharmacy software, inventory management, and electronic records systems.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Capability to manage conflicts and resolve customer issues successfully.
