Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough vision examinations to determine visual acuity and health conditions.
  • Diagnose eye diseases, including glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal disorders.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses, such as glasses and contact lenses, tailored to patient needs.
  • Provide expert guidance on visual health matters and preventive eye care strategies.
  • Manage and monitor cases of chronic eye diseases, ensuring timely interventions.
  • Perform eye exams for patients with both routine needs and complex eye conditions.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and technologies to enhance patient treatment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers for comprehensive care.
  • Educate patients on contact lens care, eyewear options, and vision correction procedures.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential patient records and treatment plans.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing eye surgeries.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • Valid license to practice optometry .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and maintaining patient privacy.
  • Willingness to stay informed about new optometric procedures and innovations.
