We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optical Technician to join our team. As an Optical Technician, you will play an integral role in assisting our optometrists and ensuring the delivery of high-quality optical care and services. You will be involved in the manufacture, fitting, repair, and adjustment of eyewear, working directly with customers to ensure satisfaction and comfort. Your expertise will also be essential in various technical operations, such as lens cutting, edging, and shaping. Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists with various technical and patient-facing tasks.
• Fabricate, fit, and repair eyeglasses and other optical devices.
• Perform accurate lens measurements and modifications as needed.
• Educate customers on the correct care and use of eyewear.
• Maintain and service laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Ensure that all optical products meet quality and safety standards.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in optical technology and techniques.
• Collaborate with team members to improve service delivery processes.
• Manage inventory of optical supplies and order additional stock as required.
• Assist in administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and handling inquiries.
• Conduct frame styling consultations to advise customers on eyewear selections.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the optical laboratory and dispensing areas.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an optical technician or similar role in an optical setting.
• Strong technical skills in lens fabrication and optical equipment usage.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong manual dexterity skills.
• Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of optical theory and best practices in optical care.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Certification or diploma in optical technology or a related field is preferred.
