The Officer, Quality and Patient Safety contributes to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care by supporting the implementation of quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives across the facility. Working closely with the Quality and Patient Safety Manager, clinical departments, and operational leaders, the QA Officer monitors performance, contributes to improvement efforts, and promotes a culture of safety and continuous learning. The QA Officer plays an active role in data collection, audit and tracer activities, incident follow-up, and regulatory readiness, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices, accreditation standards, and organizational priorities, while enabling frontline teams to integrate quality and patient safety into day-to-day clinical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the quality improvement and patient safety program to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., UAE DOH, DHA, Joint Commission International).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop performance measurement processes and action plans.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and guide evidence-based decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of safety through training, education, and proactive risk management initiatives.
  • Lead PSDA improvement projects across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years in healthcare quality and patient safety, with experience in Joint Commission International-accredited facilities.
  • Proficiency in quality improvement principles, regulatory compliance, data analysis, and project management.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent (or within 12 months of hire).
