Responds on a 24 hour basis to Fire, Hydrocarbon and Toxic Gas Release, Rescue and Fire Loss Control related situations pan Island. Prevents and minimizes loss of life and property damage as a result of fire, gas release incidents and rescue situations. During this activity supervises fire service personnel and auxiliary fire team members as appropriate and assumes responsibility of incident commander until relieved by a more senior fire officer. Work covers all Island operational and municipal facilities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific Accountabilities
Supervises the activities of the lsland(s) Fire Training Centre, under the direction of the Lead Fire Training Officer, ensures that all training is completed in line with accepted standards and Fire Service policies.
Assumes during emergency incidents duties of incident commander until relieved by a more senior fire officer. Thereafter, leads and supervises firefighters involved in firefighting, oil/chemical spills and oil & gas release control measures, rescue and medical emergencies.
Prepares training aids and presents all aspects of professional emergency response training for Fire Service personnel at all levels including UAE Nationals undergoing Career Development Programs and Personnel Development Programs.
Prepares training aids and presents fire, emergency response team and chemical incident training courses for ADNOC Offshore facilities and related marine vessels.
Prepares scenario's and implements simulated exercises for emergency response personnel, including the Auxiliary Fire Team and Fire Teams for Offshore facilities and associated marine vessels.
Prepares training aids and presents all fire, emergency response, and chemical incident, breathing apparatus and life support training courses for ADNOC Offshore and related contractors pan ZIRKU Island, including the Auxiliary Fire Team.
Prepares training aids and gives instruction on all equipment that is used within the department for related technician activities, including carbon dioxide / air compressors, bulk dry chemical filling machines and breathing apparatus test rigs.
Carries out daily inspections of ADNOC Offshore facilities, to ensure compliance with Company HSE Regulations, Fire Codes and Standards and compiles related reports, BSA and STOP's.
Supervises and gives instruction on the testing and maintenance of major fire fighting vehicles in order to ensure the competency of Fire Service personnel and that appropriate emergency preparedness is in place.
Conducts the testing of marine firefighting tugs and major fire main components in order to ensure reliability and emergency preparedness.
Reviews and develops departmental emergency procedures, maintenance programs, technical instructions and training manuals.
Formulates and reviews chemical disposal methods and procedures, and carries out the safe disposal of hazardous chemical substances involved in emergency incidents and routine disposal.

Provide input for preparation of the Department/ Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Implement approved Department I Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Department / Section's work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices
Reports
Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
Frequent contact with site personnel up to Team Leader level and HSE Team for day-to-day operational matters.
External
Routine contact with Suppliers of Fire Equipment, and Training disciplines for purchasing and training matters.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
Bachelors Degree.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
5-6 years of experience in Fire Fighting/ Protection and use of fire and life support equipment within the oil industry, five of which must be in senior position.
Proficient in English.
Professional Certifications
Watch Commander Level and Fire Service Instructor or equivalent.
