Job Description

The Occupational Therapist position at Reem Hospital plays a vital role in providing specialized therapy services to patients in need of rehabilitation or assistance with daily activities. Occupational therapists work with patients to develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at improving their independence and quality of life. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to address patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs, with a focus on promoting functional abilities and maximizing participation in meaningful activities.



🔑 Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional functioning
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practice guidelines
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients' abilities to perform activities of daily living, including self-care, work, and leisure activities
  • Utilize therapeutic modalities, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications to enhance patients' independence and safety
  • Monitor and document patients' progress throughout the course of therapy, adjusting treatment plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to establish realistic goals and facilitate active participation in therapy sessions
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure integrated and comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge planning
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and home exercise programs
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements, professional standards, and ethical guidelines governing occupational therapy practice


📋Requirements:

✔️ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

✔️ Valid DOH license to practice occupational therapy in the jurisdiction where employed.

✔️ Clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in rehabilitation or acute care.

✔️ Strong clinical skills and knowledge of occupational therapy assessment and intervention techniques.

✔️ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.

✔️Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.

✔️Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and priorities.

✔️Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
