Summary: This role primarily focuses on assessing and optimizing customer use of Nutanix products, ensuring effective administration and superior customer experience within their Nutanix environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess current usage of Nutanix products and drive adoption
  • Understand and present Nutanix best practices and solutions to customers
  • Ensure effective administration and support of the Nutanix environment
  • Perform installation and configuration of Nutanix core products
  • Manage upgrades and patching
  • Facilitate migration from 3-tier systems to Nutanix
  • Conduct cross hypervisor migrations (e.g., ESXi to AHV)
  • Monitor alerts proactively and remediate issues
  • Troubleshoot performance and availability problems
  • Engage in capacity planning and reporting
  • Manage VM lifecycle (creation, deletion, cloning, snapshots, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Nutanix support for advanced troubleshooting
  • Participate in DR drills planning and execution
  • Act as a trusted advisor on Nutanix best practices and architecture
  • Guide and mentor junior team members on Nutanix administration
  • Liaise with Nutanix support and vendors for troubleshooting
  • Automate administrative tasks using Nutanix solutions
  • Collaborate with sales teams on new opportunities and customer reporting
  • Keep customers informed on project statuses and updates
  • Conduct PoCs for Nutanix products
  • Facilitate training and enablement of customer resources.

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of experience in system administration and virtualization technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Nutanix AOS/AHV, VMware ESXi, and Hyper-V
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose complex problems independently
  • Nutanix certified engineer capable of handling day-2 operations of Nutanix clusters (administration, upgrades, integrations, etc.)
  • Ability to deploy Nutanix clusters, including adding nodes and creating new clusters as the infrastructure scales
  • Experience in migrating from VMware environments to Nutanix environments
  • Familiarity with hardware vendor stacks, especially Cisco and Dell
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-centric approach
  • Comfort with whiteboarding sessions and group presentations.

Nice to Haves:

  • VMware certifications such as VCP or VCAP
  • Nutanix NCP certification
  • Experience in workload migrations (P2V and V2V)
  • Understanding of storage and data protection technologies (replication, backups, etc.)
  • Exposure to Automation and scripting (Python/PowerShell) for task automation.
