Job Description

As a Motor Claims Officer, you will serve as a pivotal link between the insurance company and the policyholders, handling all aspects concerning motor insurance claims. Your role will involve assessing damages, interpreting policy coverage, negotiating settlements, and ensuring that all claims are processed effectively and efficiently. You will work closely with clients, repair centers, and other stakeholders to manage claims and ensure timely resolutions. It is essential to possess sharp analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to identify potentially fraudulent claims and ensure compliance with all legal and company standards. By maintaining excellent communication and problem-solving skills, you will help the company and customers navigate through the complexities of claims processes, enhancing customer satisfaction and trust.


Responsibilities

  • Review and process motor insurance claims promptly and accurately.
  • Communicate clearly with claimants to gather necessary documentation and information.
  • Conduct preliminary evaluations and investigations of claims as required.
  • Coordinate with surveyors and assessors to determine the extent of vehicle damages.
  • Assess coverage terms and conditions to determine policyholder liability and eligibility.
  • Negotiate with repair centers and other parties to reach fair settlements.
  • Identify and escalate any fraudulent or suspicious claims activities to the appropriate authorities.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of claims, decisions, and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal regulations and company guidelines in processing claims.
  • Provide expertise and advice to clients on insurance products and claim procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to improve claims handling processes and systems.
  • Participate in training to stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in motor claims processing or insurance is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for assessing claim validity.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for client interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims efficiently.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance standards mandatory.
  • Proficiency in using claims processing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
