InterContinental Abu Dhabi, an iconic urban resort located in the heart of the capital, is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking MICE Manager to lead the hotel’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events business. This strategic role requires a driven professional who can elevate our MICE segment, build long-term partnerships, and deliver exceptional event experiences that align with the prestigious InterContinental brand.

As a MICE Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue through effective sales strategies, proactive account management, and innovative event solutions. You will serve as the primary point of contact for corporate, government, and international conference clients—understanding their needs, crafting tailored proposals, and ensuring the seamless execution of every event hosted at our hotel.

You will collaborate closely with Sales, Events, Banquets, F&B, and Rooms Division teams to deliver flawless meetings and conferences, maintaining high standards of service excellence across all touchpoints.

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop comprehensive MICE sales strategies targeting local, regional, and international markets.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through networking, sales calls, client visits, and participation in trade fairs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing key accounts while expanding the hotel’s corporate and agency portfolio.
  • Prepare and present customized proposals, contracts, and event solutions based on client requirements.

Event Coordination & Execution

  • Oversee the entire event lifecycle—from initial inquiry to final execution—ensuring a smooth handover to operations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to align logistical, operational, and culinary needs for each event.
  • Conduct site inspections, event briefings, and post-event evaluations to ensure an elevated guest experience.
  • Maintain a strong presence during major events to provide clients with on-site support and follow-through.

Market Insights & Financial Performance

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and seasonal demands to set strategic targets.
  • Work with the Revenue and Sales leadership teams to forecast MICE performance and contribute to annual budget planning.
  • Achieve and exceed MICE revenue targets through proactive selling and strategic account management.

Brand & Representation

  • Represent InterContinental Abu Dhabi in sales missions, exhibitions, networking events, and industry workshops.
  • Uphold brand standards in all client interactions, proposals, and event experiences.

What we need from you:

  • 3–5 years of MICE Sales or Events Management experience within a luxury or upscale hotel environment.
  • Strong understanding of UAE/GCC corporate and government markets, with established industry networks.
  • Demonstrated success in closing high-value events and consistently meeting revenue targets.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple events simultaneously while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities and a high level of initiative.
