Job Description

As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for planning and developing merchandising strategies to drive product sales and profitability. Your role will involve collaborating with suppliers to negotiate pricing, monitor inventory levels, and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities. You will be tasked with creating visually appealing product displays, ensuring that merchandise is presented in an engaging manner to attract customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for forecasting demand, placing orders with vendors, and monitoring stock levels to ensure optimal inventory management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for driving sales through effective merchandising strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase sales and profitability through effective product merchandising.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to make informed merchandising decisions.
  • Collaborate with buyers, designers, and suppliers to plan product ranges and assortments.
  • Monitor inventory levels, pricing, and product performance to optimize sales opportunities.
  • Create visual displays and layouts to enhance product presentation and attract customer attention.
  • Conduct regular store visits to ensure merchandising standards are maintained and promotional activities are implemented effectively.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing for merchandise.
  • Use data analysis and reporting tools to track sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Train and supervise store staff on merchandising standards and product knowledge.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement in merchandising strategies.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Previous experience in merchandising, retail buying, or product management is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience working with retail software systems.
