Job Description

An MEP Technician is a versatile professional responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems within buildings and facilities. Their role is crucial to ensuring that these systems operate seamlessly and efficiently, thereby supporting the building’s functionality and comfort. The MEP Technician must possess a blend of skills in different areas including HVAC, electrical work, and plumbing. They are often called upon to perform routine inspections, respond to emergency situations, and collaborate with other technicians and contractors. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues affecting building systems performance.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure continual system operation.
  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls to resolve system failures effectively.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new MEP equipment and systems.

  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects as needed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and junior technicians.

  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and supplies necessary for operations.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an MEP Technician or similar role within building maintenance.
  • Technical certification or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, schematics, and industry-standard practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting and repair methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements for building systems.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and external partners.
