MEP Technician (225-917)

As an MEP Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operations of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within a facility. Your role is vital in maintaining the integrity, safety, and efficiency of these systems, which are critical to the functionality and comfort of any building environment. You will perform a mix of routine maintenance tasks and emergency repairs, collaborate with other team members, and provide expertise in the installation of new systems or the upgrade of existing ones. Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to all maintenance calls, including emergency repair situations.
• Conduct regular inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure efficiency and extend longevity.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues effectively.
• Repair or replace defective parts in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Install new systems and ensure they meet safety and operation standards.
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors on major system upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repair work conducted.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations at all times.
• Manage inventory of parts and supplies to support ongoing maintenance efforts.
• Train less experienced technicians and provide guidance as needed.
• Participate in energy conservation initiatives by optimizing system operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• Certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing fields preferred.
• Proven experience as an MEP Technician or in a similar maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations is essential.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals and electrical diagrams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical approach to troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and stakeholders.
