Job Purpose
As an integral part of the Operations team at UAE - Integrated Facility Management in Abu Dhabi, the MEP Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within our facilities. This position ensures seamless operations by coordinating maintenance activities and supervising technical staff while upholding safety and quality standards.
Roles, Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with company standards.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and support as needed to enhance efficiency and professional growth.
- Ensure all work adheres to health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules, minimizing downtime and service interruptions.
- Manage troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency responses related to MEP systems, ensuring timely resolution with minimal operational impact.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and inventory to support informed decision-making and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, procurement of materials, and coordination with external contractors as required.
Qualification
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant technical or engineering qualification related to mechanical, electrical, or plumbing disciplines. A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is highly preferred. Professional certifications in facility management or specialized MEP areas will be considered an asset.
Strong foundational knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices is essential to ensure safe and efficient operations. The candidate should be committed to continuous professional development to stay abreast of evolving technologies and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are important, enabling effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and clear reporting to management. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams within a dynamic facility management environment is crucial.
Experience & Skills
Candidates should bring extensive practical experience in supervising MEP operations within facility management or a similar sector. A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity, overseeing technical teams and complex systems, is expected.
Proficiency in diagnosing and solving technical problems related to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure is required, complemented by sound decision-making abilities under pressure.
The role demands flexibility to adapt to changing work conditions and emergent issues, balancing operational demands with safety and quality priorities. Demonstrated professionalism and motivation to drive continuous improvement are key traits.
Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks will support effective performance in this role.
