Job Description

The role of an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Project Manager is a pivotal one, integral to the successful completion of construction projects that involve MEP systems. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of the engineering principles and practices needed to design, manage, and execute MEP systems within buildings or structures. The MEP Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all stages of the MEP design, installation, and commissioning processes. They ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and compliant with industry standards. This professional will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the larger construction project. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential, as this role involves coordination among multiple parties and disciplines.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper integration of MEP systems in construction projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans including scope, budget, and timelines for MEP-related activities.
  • Manage the procurement and supply chain for MEP equipment and materials.
  • Supervise on-site MEP work ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Lead project meetings to monitor progress and address any issues with stakeholders promptly.
  • Identify potential risks related to MEP works and develop mitigation strategies, as needed.
  • Ensure all MEP installations adhere to relevant codes and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and clients on project progress.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of MEP systems to ensure operational excellence upon project completion.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to optimize mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs.
  • Manage internal and external resources effectively to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in MEP technology and practices to enhance project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing MEP projects in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, their installation process, and operational requirements.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with diverse project teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools like MS Project or Primavera.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading and motivating teams to achieve project deliverables.
