Mechanical Procurement QA QC Inspector

Job Summary

The Mechanical Procurement QA/QC Inspector ensures that all procured mechanical materials, equipment, and components meet the required quality standards, project specifications, industry codes, and client requirements. The role involves conducting inspections at vendor premises, reviewing technical documents, verifying material certifications, and ensuring compliance throughout the procurement and delivery process.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Review vendor documentation including material test certificates (MTCs), QAP/ITPs, datasheets, and inspection reports.
• Conduct material inspections at supplier locations and verify compliance with approved specifications and standards.
• Ensure correct identification, traceability, and preservation of procured materials.
• Inspect mechanical items such as valves, fittings, piping components, pressure vessels, structural materials, and rotating equipment.
• Coordinate third-party inspections (TPI) and follow up on NCRs, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
• Verify calibration certificates of inspection instruments and ensure use of approved tools.
• Monitor vendor manufacturing processes and verify adherence to QA/QC procedures.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
• Ensure packing, marking, and shipping meet project and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with procurement, engineering, and quality teams for technical clarifications and approvals.

Mandatory Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10–20 years experience in QA/QC inspection related to procurement or vendor inspection.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, ISO).
• Experience in inspecting mechanical materials and equipment used in oil & gas, construction, or manufacturing sectors.
• Familiarity with project quality plans, ITPs, QCPs, and documentation requirements.
• Valid certifications such as CSWIP 3.1, ASNT/ISO NDT Level II (MT/PT/UT) preferred.
