Job Description

As a Marine Officer (offshore), you will be responsible for overseeing all operations related to navigating and maintaining a vessel at sea. Your duties will include ensuring the safe and efficient navigation of the vessel, supervising the crew, and implementing safety procedures to prevent accidents or incidents. You will also be responsible for coordinating with onshore staff, managing cargo operations, and maintaining compliance with maritime regulations. Additionally, you will be required to conduct regular inspections of the vessel, troubleshoot any issues that may arise, and provide leadership and guidance to the crew members. The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of maritime operations and safety protocols. A valid marine certification and prior experience in a similar role are typically required for this position.


Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maneuver offshore vessels in compliance with maritime regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee and participate in cargo loading and unloading operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain the vessel, equipment, and systems to ensure proper functioning at all times.
  • Conduct safety inspections and drills regularly to prepare crew for emergency situations.
  • Manage onboard crew members and delegate tasks to ensure smooth operation of the vessel.
  • Coordinate with onshore personnel to plan and execute vessel schedules and routes.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of voyages, activities, and maintenance procedures.
  • Respond to emergencies, incidents, and accidents as per company procedures and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices to minimize impact on marine ecosystems.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and professionalism among crew members.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or relevant field.
  • Valid STCW certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maritime Officer.
  • Proficiency in navigation and marine safety procedures.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
