The Marine Logistics Superintendent is responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision, and execution of marine logistics activities supporting offshore and marine projects. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and timely mobilization, operation, demobilization, and movement of marine vessels, equipment, personnel, and materials in accordance with project requirements, company procedures, class, flag, port, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate marine logistics activities for offshore and marine projects.
Coordinate vessel mobilization and demobilization, including port formalities, vessel movements, towing, transportation, and project-site requirements.
Manage marine spread logistics, including workboats, tugs, barges, multicats, dredgers, CSDs, support vessels, and other marine assets.
Coordinate with vessel Masters, marine crews, project teams, agents, charterers, owners, authorities, and subcontractors.
Review vessel particulars, certificates, class status, statutory documents, insurance, permits, and other marine compliance requirements.
Ensure vessels and marine equipment are ready for mobilization and meet project and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate marine permits, port clearances, MWP/CPA requirements, inspections, surveys, and other approvals required for vessel operations.
Prepare and monitor vessel mobilization plans, transportation sequences, sailing schedules, and marine logistics plans.
Coordinate towing operations, including tug selection, towing arrangements, route planning, weather assessment, approvals, and Master readiness.
Monitor vessel movements and operational status and provide regular updates to project and management teams.
Coordinate marine logistics support for personnel transportation, crew changes, provisions, fuel, equipment, and project materials.
Review and verify vessel timesheets, on-hire/off-hire records, Statements of Facts, and supporting documentation.
Monitor marine logistics costs and support project teams with cost estimates, forecasts, and cost-control measures.
Coordinate with procurement and commercial teams regarding vessel chartering, marine services, and subcontractor requirements.
Identify potential operational risks and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
Ensure compliance with company HSE requirements and participate in marine incident investigations when required.
Maintain effective communication with project management, HSE, QHSE, engineering, procurement, commercial, and operations departments.
Provide marine logistics advice and technical support to project teams and management.
Supervise and coordinate marine logistics personnel and contractors as required.
Ensure lessons learned and operational improvements are captured and implemented.
