Manager Solution And Technology Architecture

The Solution & Technology Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving the organization's enterprise technology architecture across applications, cloud, infrastructure, integration, cybersecurity, and digital platforms. The role ensures that technology solutions align with business objectives, architectural standards, security requirements, and budget constraints.

The position serves as the technical authority for evaluating, approving, and governing the introduction of new technologies, platforms, and solutions within Etihad Engineering. Additionally, the role is accountable for cloud architecture optimization, capacity planning, and right-sizing of cloud resources to ensure efficient utilization and adherence to approved cloud budgets.

The role will work closely with business stakeholders, application teams, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, vendors, and implementation partners to drive technology modernization, innovation, operational excellence, and digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Technology Strategy

• Define and maintain the enterprise technology architecture roadmap aligned with business and digital transformation objectives.
• Develop target-state architectures for applications, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data, and integration platforms.
• Establish architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and governance frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership for major transformation programs, technology upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology strategy, innovation, and emerging technology trends.

Solution Architecture & Design Governance

• Lead solution architecture activities for strategic business initiatives and projects.
• Review and approve solution designs to ensure scalability, resilience, security, maintainability, and cost efficiency.
• Translate business requirements into end-to-end technology solutions.
• Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations to project teams and vendors.

Cloud Architecture & FinOps Governance

• Own the cloud architecture strategy across OCI, SaaS, and hybrid environments
• Continuously monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization and consumption.
• Lead cloud right-sizing initiatives to ensure infrastructure capacity aligns with business demand and budget allocations
• Establish FinOps practices for cloud cost governance, forecasting, chargeback/showback, and optimization.

Infrastructure & Platform Architecture

• Define architecture standards for compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Ensure infrastructure designs support scalability, business continuity, cybersecurity, and operational requirements.
• Drive datacenter modernization and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Review infrastructure refresh and technology investment proposals.

Digital Transformation & Innovation

• Support Digital MRO, AI, Analytics, Automation, and other strategic digital initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvement.
• Develop technology roadmaps that enable business growth and efficiency.
• Promote automation, AI-enabled operations, and modern engineering practices.

Vendor & Technical Governance

• Provide technical oversight for strategic technology partners and managed service providers.
• Review technical proposals, statements of work, and architecture deliverables from vendors
• Participate in technology selection processes, RFP evaluations, and contract reviews.
• Ensure vendor solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and long-term technology strategy.

Risk, Security & Compliance

• Ensure technology solutions comply with cybersecurity policies, EASA Part-IS requirements, and organizational standards.
• Participate in risk assessments and security architecture reviews
• Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience planning activities.
• Identify and mitigate technology risks across the enterprise.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with business leaders, project managers, application teams, and service providers.
• Mentor technical teams and promote architecture best practices.
• Lead architecture discussions with senior management and external partners.
• Build organizational capability in architecture, cloud governance, and technology management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Master's Degree or Architecture-related qualifications preferred.
• Minimum 12–15 years of IT experience.
• Minimum 5 years in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or Technical Architecture roles.
• Proven experience in cloud, datacenter, hybrid infrastructure, and enterprise application environments.
• Experience leading enterprise architecture reviews, governance boards, and technology transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
• Experience evaluating and governing new technology adoption within large organizations.
• Experience working with managed service providers and strategic technology vendors.
