Job Description

The Logistics Supervisor is a vital part of the supply chain and operations team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the logistics operations to ensure efficient transportation and storage of goods. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage both people and processes to improve operation effectiveness. The Logistics Supervisor will liaise with the warehouse, transportation teams, and external partners to coordinate logistics operations and ensure timely delivery of goods. Candidates for this position must possess excellent organizational skills, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of logistics software and systems. The role is crucial for enhancing customer satisfaction and driving operational success, as it involves overseeing inventory management, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and improving inbound and outbound logistics processes.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all logistics operations including inbound and outbound activities.
  • Manage warehouse operations to ensure the efficient use of space and resources.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving logistics efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of logistics and warehouse staff members.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and transport companies to optimize delivery schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all logistics operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for restocking needs.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance and operational metrics.
  • Use logistics software to optimize routes, delivery schedules, and inventory management.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints related to logistics operations smoothly.
  • Participate in budget planning and cost control for logistics operations.
  • Work on special projects aimed at continuous improvement of logistics processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within logistics.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent systems is essential.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills are necessary for this position.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required for vendor interactions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines consistently.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop strategies and solve operational issues effectively.
