Job Description

The Logistics Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the warehousing, distribution, and transportation of goods within the supply chain to ensure timely and efficient delivery. This position requires a strategic thinker who is skilled in handling logistics operations, managing warehouse staff, and optimizing inventory levels. The Logistics Supervisor must ensure that all processes comply with health and safety regulations, making sure standards are adhered to while minimizing costs. Excellent communication skills are vital to effectively liaise with suppliers, distributors, and internal teams. An individual occupying this role must possess strong problem-solving abilities to swiftly address any logistical challenges that may arise.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the logistics department, ensuring efficient processes.
  • Coordinate and manage the flow of goods from suppliers to warehouses.
  • Develop strategies to streamline logistics operations and improve service levels.
  • Plan inbound and outbound logistics operations to optimize resources.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to logistics personnel and warehouse staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of inventory levels and shipment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and logistics regulations and standards.
  • Communicate with vendors to negotiate and secure favorable terms and prices.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement logistics plans, budgets, and the annual business plan.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business processes.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments and deliveries promptly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in logistics management or a supervisory role within logistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex logistics challenges.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics systems, processes, and best practices required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite applications necessary.
