Job Description

The Logistics Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the logistics operations of an organization. This position requires strategic planning to ensure efficient transportation, inventory management, and distribution processes. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of logistics personnel, optimizing the supply chain, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role necessitates exceptional leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Logistics Supervisor will be expected to maintain strong communication and coordination with various departments to achieve organizational goals and ensure that products are delivered on time and within budget.


Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day logistics operations including transportation, inventory control, and distribution.
  • Supervise and lead a team of logistics staff to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to optimize supply chain processes.
  • Monitor and report on logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements within the logistics operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to align logistics operations with company objectives.
  • Oversee the management of transportation and logistics systems to ensure timely delivery.
  • Resolve any logistics issues quickly and effectively to minimize disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of logistics processes for reporting purposes.
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular audits of logistics procedures to ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within logistics or supply chain management.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems, including inventory management tools.
  • Solid understanding of logistics principles, including transportation and warehousing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for team and stakeholder engagement.
