Job Description

A Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods within a company’s supply chain. This position involves planning, implementing, and managing the coordination of logistics operations to ensure the timely delivery of products to meet customer demands. A Logistics Specialist typically liaises with suppliers, manufacturers, and transportation companies to align schedules, optimize routes, and control inventory levels. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the supply chain operations daily.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize logistics processes and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and transportation providers for successful deliveries.
  • Monitor freight costs and ensure efficiency in logistics operations and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure alignment with demand forecasts.
  • Implement safety and regulatory compliance procedures in all logistics activities.
  • Identify and resolve logistical issues to maintain seamless operations.
  • Prepare and present logistics performance reports and metrics to management.
  • Manage logistics infrastructure, including storage facilities and transportation networks.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with logistics and transportation service providers.
  • Assist in the development and execution of logistics system improvements and upgrades.
  • Train and supervise logistics staff and ensure departmental goals are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, warehouse management, and transportation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills essential for optimizing operations.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and tools for effective operations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with vendors and partners.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple logistics tasks efficiently.
