Job Description

The Logistics Specialist (13J25) plays a crucial role in coordinating and managing the supply chain operations to ensure the efficient and smooth movement of goods, materials, and services. This position requires a detailed-oriented and analytical professional who can handle the complexities of logistics and distribution systems to maximize operational productivity. In this role, the specialist works closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments to track shipments, monitor inventories, and solve any supply chain issues. By implementing effective logistics strategies, the Logistics Specialist ensures that the organization can maintain optimal service levels while minimizing costs and improving overall customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, an understanding of both domestic and international logistics, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the transportation and distribution of goods and materials.
  • Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to streamline operations.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure stock availability and accuracy.
  • Oversee the process of packing, packaging, and shipping products to customers.
  • Analyze and optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Address and resolve any logistics or supply chain issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international logistics regulations.
  • Utilize software tools to track shipments and maintain accurate records of inventory.
  • Prepare logistics reports and provide insights to management for decision-making.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with logistics service providers and vendors.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes for better performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in logistics, supply chain, or transportation roles.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international logistics regulations and compliance.
