Job Description

The Logistics Manager is a pivotal role within any organization dealing with the supply chain and logistics operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods. As a Logistics Manager, you will devise strategies to optimize the process, ensuring products are delivered efficiently to the right location, on time, and at a good cost. You’ll evaluate the performance of logistics operations using relevant data and analytics, ensuring compliance with regulations both domestically and internationally. Moreover, you will work closely with vendors to enhance the logistical procedures, aiming to improve customer service and reduce operational costs. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring sustainability and growth for the business.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Manage and optimize the warehouse operations to maximize efficiency and space utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies regarding logistics operations.
  • Oversee and coordinate transport operations, including strategy, planning, and execution.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and transportation companies to secure favorable terms.
  • Supervise a team of logistics and warehouse staff, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Monitor performance metrics and analyze data to assess process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints regarding logistics operations promptly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems and processes.
  • Prepare and manage the logistics budget to achieve cost objectives and financial goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities and organize logistics management reports.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in logistics processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • Proven work experience as a Logistics Manager or similar role is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, including warehousing and transportation.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, with a timely resolution skill set required.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to influence decisions effectively.
  • Outstanding analytical skills, with experience in logistics software and data analysis.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the experience of managing teams and individual contributors.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in a business environment.
