Job Description

As a Logistic Officer, your primary responsibility will be to manage the supply chain logistics of an organization. This role involves overseeing the transportation of goods, the storage and warehousing of materials, and ensuring that products are delivered safely, on time, and cost-efficiently. You will be working closely with various departments, including procurement, planning, and production, to optimize the logistics processes and reduce waste. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as you will be required to deal with complex logistics issues and find timely solutions. Effective communication skills will be critical to negotiate with suppliers and carriers and to coordinate effectively with team members and other stakeholders. The role promises dynamic challenges and opportunities to streamline operations and support the organization’s growth objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the entire logistics operations, including transportation and warehousing.
  • Plan and monitor inbound and outbound deliveries to ensure on-time performance.
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and logistics providers for best value.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify and resolve any logistical issues proactively.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of logistics operations for reporting and compliance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and other departments to optimize logistics.
  • Implement cost-saving measures in logistics processes without compromising quality.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards in logistics operations.
  • Develop relationships with key logistics partners to streamline operations.
  • Prepare regular reports on logistics metrics for senior management review.
  • Utilize software for managing logistics operations and tracking shipment status.
  • Coordinate customs and clearance activities for international shipments efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities are required.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to manage external partnerships.
  • Experience with logistics software and transportation management systems.
  • Proven ability to manage logistics in compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks effectively.
