Job Description

The role of a Lifting Operation Specialist, code 13F25, centers around designing, preparing, and executing lifting plans and activities in a safe and efficient manner. This job is crucial in industries like construction, shipping, oil and gas, and large-scale manufacturing where heavy lifting is a frequent requirement. The specialist will oversee the safe operation of cranes, forklifts, hoists, and other lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards. Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and implement comprehensive lifting operation plans and procedures.
  • Ensure all lifting operations comply with industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards during lifts.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to crane operators and lifting personnel.
  • Coordinate with project managers and onsite engineers to align lifting activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all lifting operations and activities.
  • Inspect lifting equipment regularly to ensure functionality and safety compliance.
  • Provide training and updates to team members on lifting safety protocols.
  • Schedule regular maintenance and repairs for all lifting equipment used.
  • Respond to and resolve any lifting-related incidents or emergencies promptly.
  • Analyze work processes to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance safety.
  • Communicate effectively with external vendors or suppliers about lifting equipment.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in managing heavy lifting operations successfully.
  • Certification in lifting operations and safety, such as LEEA or a similar credential.
  • Strong knowledge of all relevant safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in using CAD software to design and analyze lifting plans.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for effective teamwork.
