Job Description

The Lifting Operation Specialist is a critical role within construction and industrial operations, responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of lifting activities. This position requires a deep understanding of rigging, hoisting, and moving heavy objects using a variety of lifting equipment. The specialist will collaborate with engineering teams and site management to plan, evaluate, and execute lifting solutions that align with project specifications and safety guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, be adept at identifying risks, and ensure all operations adhere to established safety protocols. The Lifting Operation Specialist is expected to be well-versed in regulatory requirements and have a proactive approach to continuous improvement in lifting techniques and equipment handling.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lifting plans in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering and on-site teams to conduct risk assessments for lifting operations.
  • Select appropriate lifting equipment and accessories to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Inspect lifting equipment regularly to maintain compliance with industry safety regulations.
  • Provide training to site personnel on safe lifting techniques and equipment handling.
  • Monitor lifting activities to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Document all lifting operations and maintain accurate records for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Liaise with safety officers to ensure all lifting activities adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate new lifting technologies and techniques to improve operational safety and efficiency.
  • Prepare reports and feedback for project management on lifting operation performances and improvements.
  • Investigate any lifting-related incidents and lead post-incident analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensure that emergency response plans are in place and communicated effectively to all personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in lifting operations within construction or industrial sectors.
  • Certified Rigger or Lifting Specialist certification from a recognized accrediting body.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry codes and standards related to lifting and rigging.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative team environments.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools relevant to lifting operations.
