Mission

The Fresh Graduate/Trainee Main Mission Is To Contribute To The Fulfilment Of The Legal Department’s Mission Which Is Summarised As Follows

• guaranteeing the legal safety of all metiers and activities carried out in BNP PARIBAS entities (branch or subsidiary) in the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, ADGM, DIFC), Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait (the “Territory”) pertaining to all of the bank’s core businesses
• guaranteeing the legal safety of the transactions initialised by the bank entities with domestic clients and contributing to the legal safety of international transactions
• applying the group legal policy including the choice and use of external counsels, assessing and validating the recommendations of such external counsels
  
  

The Fresh Graduate/Trainee may be a member/contributor of the Financing Platform reporting hierarchically to the UAE Head of legal.

Direct Key Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Researching the law and court precedence in order to help advise the business on their legal queries
• Assist with the preparation of MEA Regulatory Watch agendas, committees and minutes
• Assist in providing legal advice to the different businesses and functions across all the core businesses and business lines
• Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements and ensure their compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as their protection of the bank’s interests
• Collecting and analysing information on legal issues
• Carrying out punctual legal studies
• Participate in trainings and provide information to the bank’s departments to ensure a regular monitoring of the legal issues
• Complying with all of the bank’s policies and procedures
  
  

Expected Contributions

• Assisting the MEA Legal team with any ad hoc projects and legal matters
• Contributing to projects driven by the group legal department
• Contributing to the Financing Platform projects (if required)
