Job Description

As a Legal Counsel, you will serve as an essential adviser within the organization, providing expert legal guidance to support strategic initiatives and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will work closely with various departments to mitigate legal risks, draft and review legal documents, and provide solutions to complex legal issues. Your role will involve navigating a wide range of legal matters, including contract law, employment law, intellectual property, and corporate governance. You will act as a critical link between the company and external legal representatives, sometimes representing the company in legal proceedings. As a trusted advisor, you will facilitate decision-making processes at all levels of the organization, ensuring that legal considerations are seamlessly integrated into business strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and legal documents.
  • Provide proactive legal guidance to senior management and various departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide comprehensive interpretation of laws.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks effectively.
  • Assist in managing and resolving disputes, both internally and externally.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external legal counsel and advisors.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company’s operations.
  • Lead internal investigations and provide recommendations based on findings.
  • Represent the company in legal matters, negotiations, and proceedings as required.
  • Educate employees on legal implications of business decisions and operations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • Active membership in the state bar and in good standing is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a legal counsel role.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are necessary.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
