The Lead Piping Engineer plays a crucial role in the design and execution of piping systems within industrial and commercial projects. Responsibilities

• Lead the piping design and engineering activities for projects of varying scales and complexities.
• Coordinate with project managers to establish project scope, schedule, and budgets.
• Oversee the development of piping layouts, isometric drawings, and support diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications during all project phases.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Review and approve engineering documents, including stress analysis reports and material specifications.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to optimize design solutions and integrate systems.
• Conduct site visits for data collection, installation guidance, and troubleshooting of piping systems.
• Facilitate risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential project challenges.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of vendors and suppliers based on technical requirements.
• Prepare and contribute to project status reports, design reviews, and customer presentations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in piping engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Proven proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Caesar II, and SmartPlant.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards, including ASME, API, and ANSI.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to travel to project sites for supervision, inspections, and client meetings as required.
