Lead HSE Engineer - Offshore

Role Purpose

Lead and oversee all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities at the offshore site, ensuring full compliance with company standards, project HSE plans, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and incident-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for all HSE functions at the offshore site.
• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE plans, procedures, and strategies for project execution.
• Oversee risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP activities, SIMOPS planning, and safety studies.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and international offshore HSE standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and monitoring to ensure HSE performance.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, contractors, and HSE teams to ensure safe work execution.
• Provide HSE training, coaching, and competency development for offshore personnel.
• Prepare HSE reports, KPIs, performance dashboards, and regulatory documentation.
• Promote a strong safety culture through active engagement, leadership, and behavioral safety programs.
  
  

• Minimum 18+ years of HSE experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Extensive offshore project experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of international HSE standards (OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, API, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, HSE, or related discipline.
• NEBOSH IGC/IDip, OHSAS/ISO lead auditor certificates preferred.
• Valid offshore medical, BOSIET/FOET, and H2S certifications.
